C# Scheduler

Quick Break Down:

Writing a scheduler to execute URLs. The URLs are scripts that need to be run everyday. URLs may not have any HTML code, only server code.

Question:

How do I run execute this URLs? I assume that I should use HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse. Thing is...how do I determine if there was an error when running the URL script? Most scripts are written in Coldfusion. I cannot check the StatusCode since there may be no HTML in the URLs at all. Could I use HttpException.GetHtmlErrorMessage?

Excuse me if this seems like something easy I haven't done application programming for about 5 years.

If you were to run this URL/script by hand (like pasting the url into your browser and such) how would you tell if it worked or not?

The page comes up completely blank if it worked correctly. Although I could just check if there was no code on the page I would assume it ran correctly. How does HttpException.GetHtmlErrorMessage work exactly? What does it return and how can I implement this? I need to create a log if there is an error message.
