C# 2.0 Push ref object onto stack

Can anyone show me how to determine if an object pushed onto a stack object is actually a ref object?

Example code snippet:

Stack m_stack = new Stack()

void PushByRef<T>(ref T value)
{
m_stack.Add(value);
}

Now, when I do this:

int x = 10;
PushByRef<int>(ref x);

object _var = m_stack.Pop();

How do I know whether _var contained a value popped off the stack that was added to it as a ref? I have tried _var.GetType().IsByRef and this returns false, but when I assign a value to _var the original object reflects this change so why does _var.GetType().IsByRef not showing up as true???

I have hit a brick wall and cannot find anything relating to this on the web.

Thanks in advance.
