VS 2005 Classname Drop down

In VS 2003, in the class name drop down there is an option for (Overrides)
if your code behind inherits another class. this option does not seem to be
available in VS 2005, or is there some option to set that will show this in
the drop down?

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick,

You must be using VB.NET, right?

In VB.NET 2005, to override a method/property in an inherited class, open
the code file of the inherited class and type "overrides" and press the
Space key.

You should see a list of valid overridable memebers pops up. You can scroll
or use the arrow keys to navigate through the list, or, if you know the
first few letters of the member name, begin typing to jump directly to the
member in the list.

When a member from the list is selected, you can press ENTER to insert that
member into you code and you can override the propery/method now.

Hope this helps.
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

Sincerely,
Linda Liu

Thanks! Is there a reason why it was taken out of the class drop down,
forcing the developer to actually type "Overrides" instead of selecting it?

Hi Rick,

Thank you for your reply!

I think one reason may be that Visual Studio product team is trying to
make VB.NET code editor behaves like C# code editor.
