nested class

Hi,
How to access the members of outerclass from a nested class.
ie., for example

class Class1
{
class A {
void show() {
int y = x;
}
}
protected int x = 10;

}

In the above example I am trying to access the member 'x' of the outer class Class1 from the inner class 'A'.

But C# complier throwing me the exception

Cannot access a nonstatic member of outer type 'Class1' via nested type 'Class1.A'

But I cannot define x as a static object.

Regards
Srinivas

Well, why do you need a nested class?
And if you need the value, pass it in to your nested constructor
