change works in Localhost but not on the server

Recently we promoted a change to one of our applications. We use an application called CruiseControl that builds a label and stores the current changes to a staging server where the web engineering group uses to get the created label and deploy the changes to the different servers.

We checked-out and checked-in our changes in Visual Soursafe. We then did a 'Force Build' via CruiseControl. The label generated by the cruise control was moved to the development server. Our changes works like a charm in development server, but when the same label is promoted to the Test server it is not working fine. We get an error:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I tried to connect to the test database through localhost and run it thus using the test data as if I was using the test server, but there was NO error when the SAVE button is clicked. The code-behind we promoted to the TST server is the same as the one I have in localhost and dev server.

I'm stuck right now and can't figure-out what is wrong since no error is being generated when i run it through local and i can't trace the problem. I'm not sure if it's data related since connecting to test database through local works.

Can anyone help?

Try with some thing other than cruise control since it has some thing problem on String cast (Googling on this ?).
