sending objects on tcp in vb.net

Hi all,
In my vb.net program i am trying to send an object(instantiation of a class) from my tcpClient to tcpListner. Can some body tell me how this can be done? i kno this is possible in java but i have no clue if this can be done in vb.net. i want to transfer data without converting it into string. Please giv me ur valueble suggestions. thanx

I think there is a serialization (Marshalling?) that has to be done, and both sides need to have identical versions of the code for the classes (probably not a big deal)

Other then that, I am unfamiliar with sending custom objects over sockets
