email notifications

i know this probably is the silliest question to ask, but how do i recieve
email notifications when my email window isnt up? i know i used to get a
little envelope in my toolbar and a bell sounded, but i find i am missing
important emails with deadlines because i dont know they are there,
if anyone could help me it would be appreciated
i am runing windows vista home premium and using the windows mail,

You'll get more interest in, and help with, your issue in a Windows group,
rather than in
this .NET programming group.

To find the group you need:

Then open your language in the TreeView on the left, scroll down to
"Windows", open and scroll down to your version of Windows, and
select a group from that category.
It would be good to add some details with your question, such as name of the
mail client software you are using, and what version/edition of Windows you
are running.
