how to convert data from sql server to xml? how to import data from xml to sql server

I have xml data in my vb.net mobile application:
customer.xml
<dataset>
<customers>
<customerid>BONAP</customerid>
<companyname>Bon app'</companyname>
<contactname>Laurence Lebihan</contactname>
<contacttitle>Owner</contacttitle>
<address>12, rue des Bouchers</address>
<city>Marseille</city>
<postalcode>13008</postalcode>
<country>France</country>
<region>Asia</region>
<phone>91.24.45.40</phone>
<fax>91.24.45.41</fax>
</customers>
</dataset>

And i have database "inventory" in sql server at my desktop. and the server name is : "development\sqlexpress"
i want to import the xml data (customer.xml) into "customers" table at sql server.
can you help me with my problem?

and i want to convert data in table "customers" at sql server into xml data (customer.xml) in my vb.net mobile apllication.
please...help me...
