Replacing RecordSets with DataSets??

122 100+
Ok I understand the basics behind this but can someone break it down in English for me...

I have a simple select statement and I want to update a column in my dataset with the values from the select statement. I.e. it could be one value or a single row with several columns of data.

I.e. Select vehicletype, priceplan, service, accountnumber from clients where accountcode = xxx

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

If it is helpfull i am calling a function that will return these values I was thinking as a Dataset but maybe there is an easier way.

Thanks,

You can use a DataAdapter object to take an SQL query and populate a DataSet object, but if you want to append data to an exsisting DataSet I'm not sure how.
(Well I guess if you populated a DataTable with the DataAdapter you could do a myDataSet.Tables.Add() to put the table in there, but never tried it)
