Excessive use of User Control

Hello frds,
I want a little discussion abt the use of User Control.
I am doing a project whose homepage contains 9 user control.Is it the reason which makes the homepage very slow to download in internet.
If yes, Whats the solution.

The performance difference between user controls and 'server' controls should be minimal on the page but the user controls should speed up your application overall. More likely there is another reason for poor performance, eg not refactoring code or publishing in debug mode. Here is an article on controls:
