Windows Defender Doesn't Block or Detect Spyware

I run WD and do not see any spyware detected at all. I then run any or all of
Ad-Aware, Spybot and Zone Alarm and spyware is always detected. Obviously WD
did not block any of these, and it certainly did not detect them. I get
successful updates nearly every day from WD. I have uninstalled and
re-installed twice with no change to the problem. What has to be done to get
Windows Defender to do what it is intended to do?

It would be better to ask in a group for Internet Explorer, rather than in
this .NET programming group.
To find the group you need:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...D-2224A4FEB3EA

Then open your language in the TreeView on the left, scroll down to
"Windows", open and scroll down to a group that covers your version of
Windows and select a
likely group from that category. I'm sorry to say that there appear to be no
groups dedicated to Defender.

Thanks. I have tried to use the discussions group a number of times and find
it most difficult to navigate. On this subject, I have tried to post a couple
of times and did not get a response until yours. I have not been able to
navigate back to where I posted. I find that most of the groups, topics etc,
are not even chronological nor alphabetical. I have now posted again under
English/Windows/Security/anti spyware/general discussion but I believe I
tried that link before and never could find it. Maybe this time will be
different. Again, thanks for your help.

If you're going to use these groups on a regular basis, I'd suggest that you
set up a news account in your mail/news client. If you're using Outlook
Express or Vista Windows Mail, you can simply use Tools->Accounts... Add to
add an account at the Microsoft public news server, then subscribe to the
groups that interest you. The server is: msnews.microsoft.com and is open to
the public (no authentication required).

Using a news client will make it *much* easier to keep track of your posts
and responses thereto. If you have additional questions about this option,
don't hesitate to ask :)
