Login Form Open Close Problems

Hello,

I am having a problem with an application, where I feel the answer should be easy; however, what seems easy sometimes is not so.

I have two forms, we will call form1 and form2. Inside the if statement I call a method that has the code I want to run.

The problem is that when I run the app, enter the password, the entire app closes, not just form1 "Login Form. I have tried different variation including Hide(), Close(); and others. Here is my current config...

public void run()
{

form2 openForm2 = new form2();
openForm2.Show();
this.Close();


}
private void loginBtn_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{

if (passwordTxtBox.Text == "password")

run();

else
passwordErrorLabel.Text = "Please enter correct password.";

}

pls use this.Hide(); instead of this.Close()

if the hide() function is not working then use this.visible=false;

and then use the Application.Exit() when u want to fully colse the application

the problem is that Form2.Show() will not stop the code execution in that method - what you need to do in the run() method is to change it to Form2.ShowDialog().
