Flush my.settings to app.config file??

P
Hey experts,

I have a vb.net (2.0) application that is basically a scheduling
application. It wakes up periodically, checks to see if there's tasks
to be ran and kicks off any tasks in another process. The process
that
it kicks off references the scheduling app assembly and always kicks
off classes that are in this assembly, so that these classes have
access to the my.settings for the scheduling application settings.
Works well.
The scheduling app also has a UI portion that allows the user to
change settings in my.settings anytime and saves them using
my.settings.save. The problem comes when the user changes a setting
through the UI, that change is not written to the app.config file so
that when the application kicks off the process that runs the tasks,
these tasks are not able to see the updated my.settings since the new
process reads the file on disk and the scheduling application keeps
an
in memory version of the updated my.settings.
Is there any way to force .net to write the changes to my.settings to
the app.config file so that when the task process kicks off, it will
read the correct/updated settings?
Thanks,
P
