calling .Net web service method on remote server

10
Hi,

Refer to my previous post "Calling web serive from JSP", I found an article on msfn2.microsoft.com.

"Using the WebService behavior, it is not possible to call a remote method directly on a server that resides in a different domain from the server hosting the Web page. However, Web servers can communicate directly with other Web servers, even if they reside in different domains. Therefore, it is possible to use the Web server that is hosting the Web page as a proxy to other Web servers, as a means for the WebService behavior to access resources on remote domains. The following diagram illustrates how WebService calls can be passed to remote servers."

Actually, I have a webpage who is going to call a .Net webservice method. This web service is hosted on remote IIS server, which has different domain from us. My web server is Oracle application server. So when my web page calls the webservice method, I always get "service unavailable" error. If I run the page on my local machine with Oracle JDeveloper, it works fine.

Can anyone here tell me how to make the webservice call work? Thank you very much. Please help.
