Explorer.Exe - Application error

I hope somebody can help with this problem. I get a message whenever i want
to access an avi file.
The instruction at 0x0616415b referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory
could not be written.
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on Cancel to debug the program.

I am using windows xp home version SP2
