Scroll bars don't cause validation

Visual C++ .NET 2003

I'm using a ListView as an editor by popping up a TextBox to edit the
selected value. However if the user moves the scroll bar (which
automatically appears in the ListView when the list is too long) it
doesn't cause any validation; which leaves my TextBox floating in the
wrong place.

Is there a way to get scroll bars to cause validation?
Alternatively is there a way for the ListView to tell it is being
scrolled?
