C# APP Textbox and string interpretation of escape seq.

1
hello to all,
This is just a strange (for a newbie) something I found on c# express.

Creating a dummy win application with one button and two (multiline) textboxes and droping this:

private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
byte[] buffer = {110,117,109,13,0,13,10,110,117,109};
string tmp = ""; Int32 i;

for(i=0;i<10;i++)
textBox1.Text=textBox1.Text+Convert.ToChar(buffer[i]);

for(i=0;i<10;i++)
tmp=tmp+Convert.ToChar(buffer[i]);
textBox2.Text=textBox2.Text+tmp;
}

causes two different outputs to appear on each text box. Any clues on why?
(**data on buffer are coming from a tcp session on the original app**)

Thank you,
efm
