I'm sorry you didn't get a response to your question earlier, I didn't notice that you had replied to an article. I've split your question off of the article and put it into the .NET forum (this is where you're supposed to ask your questions).

I have a few questions about your problem:
Are you using Visual Studio 2003?
If so:
Have you tried to recreate the ASPNET user account by reinstalling the .NET Framework v1.1?
Are you sure that your IIS has been configured to use ASP.NET?
If so, are you sure you have the right version (v1.1) running on the IIS?
