javascript + asp.net

hi all,
i donno whether this is the right place to post me query.
i'm finding for a solution to my problem.
i'm using javascript to expand or collapse div tag as given below.
function switchMenu(obj)
{
var el = document.getElementById(obj);
if ( el.style.display != 'none' )
{
el.style.display = 'none';

}
else
{
el.style.display = 'block';
}
}

can any one tel me how to get the returned value from the script. for Eg: if i'm returning true or false where can i save these values from javascript so as to use them for further actions based on true or false?

i'm giving the DIV id to the function during call

You are able to use return true or false in the function. but it depends on where else you want to use these returned values. HTH.
