changing view mode of an url in address bar

hi there
is there any way to change view mode of an url in address bar
like this
http://www.xxx.com/NEWS.ASPX ---http://www.xxx.com/NEWS.Html
or
http://www.xxx.com/NEWS.ASPX ---http://www.xxx.com/NEWS

No, there isn't. The address bar always shows the url of the current
page, and there is no way that you can change that.

You can use a frameset if you want to show the content of one page
inside another.

Perhaps URL mapping is what you are looking for. That's something
completely different, though, and has nothing at all to do with what the
address bar is showing.
