I'm starting a project which I should start by choosing proper tools. Basically the project would include an ASP page that can make query from db, which would have links to files in certain location. This query should be done by using different keywords as criteria. Also there should be ASP page where user can save new record to db. The db would only contain one table with link to actual file and other fields for key words etc.
My question would be if I can do this all by using Excel sheet or should I establish SQL database with one table? Would there be some security issue that should be considered with excel sheets? Also if you have any suggestions to use some other tools I would appreciate.
