If you are creating a windows application, the textboxes have a property where you can declare that everything must be capital (so pressing "s" would show up in the box as "S") as for stopping other characters, there is the keyup keydown and keypress events.
For web pages, there are javascript events such as "onkeydown", "onkeyup" and "onkeypress" that are similar. Check into them if you'd like
