Back button of Internet Browser - mess my links

P: 14
hi all,

i have hyperlinks on my page that shows images in the same page. i used iframe to show the images in the same page. when a hyperlink is clicked, hyperlinks under that hyperlink should appear. i placed the hyperlinks in a table so i can show/hide them using their cell names. it is working fine, but the problem comes when i click the back button of the internet browser. it does not show the previous hyperlinks. is there anything i can do? is it possible that the links will also be stored in session? thanks

From what I understand of your question, your issue comes from the fact that pressing the back button breaks the normal flow of your site.

Sadly, this is the way of life. The only ways to fix this that I know of are not real user (or bandwith) friendly.

A fix might be checking what the last site that was seen into a cookie, then updating the links based off that. Once that is done, set the current page into the 'last site' so if they change pages, the next page reads the current page as the last page seen. Finally, you could hold a loop in the page that checks the current page against the last page. If they dont match, they have broken the normal flow of your site and the page should be reloaded. This is all pseudo code, mind you, and when you put it to implementation it would probably need to be adjusted.
