Passing a collection from one asp.net page to another asp.net page (web app)

32
Hi,

I am wondering which is the best way to pass a collection of objects from one asp.net page to another page.

In my first page I will be displaying a large collection of objects (poss > 2000) & each object will have a check box associated with it. For each object that has its checkbox selected I will be creating a smaller collection of these selected items to pass to another asp.net page.

After researching I seem to think that using the cache will be the bext way?!

Can anyone please help & tell me if this will be the right way to proceed?

Many thanks
Janet

Hello

there are many ways for passing values from one form to other ,but it all depends on the requirement and security ,

if you want to use those values with in one or two form then you can directly pass as querystring values ,else if you want to use for a particular session go for sessions ,you can also use application variables ,but make sure as for your requirement ,the variables should expire after the session end oralive till the application ends

there are many other techniques like hiddenfields for passing values from one form to other forms
