Hello.
I'm a newbie with VC++ 2005 Express, working from Miller and Ford's
"VC++ ... programming for the absolute beginner".
My practice program compiles (under build) without error, but does not
run (under debug) as it should. . . hardly unusual. So, make a few changes,
and recompile. Only it will not recompile, but produces the PRJ008 error
message, that it could not delete the 2 debug files .exe, and .pdb.
Trying to delete the two files manually was also disallowed, with the
statement that the files were in use. . . even after closing down the VC++
Express IDE . The only way I was able to recompile was to restart the
computer. . . a rather extreme measure. (It seems that the trial program was
somehow still running.)
In the debug menu list I can still run the program, but the "stop
debugging" option is greyed out. This is the 3rd attempt at this silly
program;the previous attempt gave a linking error 1105 I think which amounts
to the same problem: the.exe and .pdb. files could not be accessed, changed,
or deleted.
Have I missed a setting somewhere?
Thanks,
Glen
