Deployment Question (Winforms Application)

Hello all,

I'm developing a rather simple Winforms application written in C# using MS Visual Studio.NET. The application uses a MS Access database as the backend database. The application is going to be installed in a variety of different environments; some will have several PCs with the app installed with a centralized database, while others will have a single install with the database residing in the same folder as the application. For simplicity and cost, I'm using Microsoft's own MSI deployment method through Visual Studio.

What I'm wondering is how to prompt the user during install for where to copy/install the database. For the server install, the user would simply point to [and perhaps create a new] folder where they'd like to copy the database. The same would work for a single PC installation-- the user would simply select where to place the database.

Is this difficult to do using MSI as the setup/installation method? If so, how do I do this? Any articles, links, or anything would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site. Here is an article that may help:
How can I customize an MSI in the Visual Studio setup/deployment project?

Thanks so much for the link and welcoming me to your great forums! I'll definitely be back nagging you with more questions...and maybe [just maybe] posting some solutions to others' questions =)
