whats webresource.axd?

304 100+
hi,
I have developed a website using .net 2.0. But i find that the pages take a lot of time to load.

Just to check out the size of the file thats received i tried saving it on my local machine.

On saving it i found that a file with the name "webresource.axd" also gets saved and its size is quite huge..around 350kb.

can anyone tell me as to what might be going on here?

thanks,
gomzi.

After searching on the net, i found out that webresource.axd will contain the scripts that are used for performing client side operations..
Also that the size of this file could be reduced by compression.
So I would like to know as to how it could be done?
Thanks,
gomzi.

In my opinion 350kb is a relatively small file. Personally I would look for other causes of poor performance.

I see. Any idea of a site or two which i can refer to in order to see to it that the site i have deployed is optimized to the maximum level?

Thanks,
gomzi.
