Error Creating Controls

When I closed my C# .Net solution which has some standard controls on a webform, and reopened it, all my controls display a place holder with an error "Error Creating Controls - controlID ." When I mouse over the little info box, I get more information, "Specified Cast is Not Valid." I have not been able to find this same error anywhere on the web, can someone please help me out. Thanks!

Are you using either an AccessDataSource or SqlDataSource on your form?

I don't have any data controls on my form that I know of. I only have Button, Textboxs, Labels, and an ImageButton. I did however experiment with dropping an OleDbDataAdapter on the page and then clicked through the config screen, only to find out that I don't have SQL server on my machine. So I just left it alone. Could that be the problem? Thanks for any help you may have.

It could be an issue. View the "source" of your code if the OleDBAdapter is not visible in design view, and remove any reference to the adapter. Also check the web.config to see if there is any rogue code and remove it. Invalid cast means you are using "As String" or "As Boolean" incorrectly.

In VS look for any red squigglies that might point to an error in your code and correct them accordingly.
