problem using innertext to set value

P: 3
I have taken over support of a C# .NET application and I am running into problems with the following lines of code:

htmltitle = (HtmlGenericControl)FindControl("ProspectInfoTitle ");
htmltitle.InnerText = "Prospect Name";

where the html looks like this:
<TITLE id="ProspectInfoTitle">ProspectInformation</TITLE>
<meta content="Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 7.1" name="GENERATOR">
<meta content="C#" name="CODE_LANGUAGE">
<meta content="JavaScript" name="vs_defaultClientScript">
<meta content="" name="vs_targetSchema">

This logic works fine in the production system that our client is currently using but it gives an error on the "htmlTitle.InnerText = " statement on our development server. Does anyone have any thoughts as to why this would be happening?
