About Ajax

Dear All,

I want some information regarding Ajax, What i know about ajax is
If we use ajax to call a function, it will execute the server side function directly without executing page_load function, so the controls in this page are inaccesable, viewstate, sessions, application objects are also inaccesable. I think querystring variables are also inaccesable. Then how can I maintain the state of the page, like how to maintain the value of a variable, increment/decriment that variable. With out using static variables.

You will need to pass that information along in your AJAX call as well.
