Debug.WriteLine not appearing in Output Window

There is a solution on a microsoft bug list. It is a visual studio bug.(my version VS C# Express 2005) Check this setting or similar in VS: Tools Options Debug General "Redirect all Output window text to the Immediate Window" even if this box is unchecked as it should be, check it close the window and un-check it again later.

This fixed my problem with system diagnostics Debug.WriteLine(). and Console.WriteLine and any output statement that was not working previously.

(this was a previous unresolved discussion, but I could not post a reply. From the problems I have had with debug writeline I thought it was worthy of a new thread.)
