BITS

Hi

BITS won't start. Get error message "windows could not start bits on the
local computer etc . refer to service specific error code -2147024891. Tried
all fixes on microsoft KB.

Please help

Dave,

BITS is the Background Intelligent Transfer Services usage for Automatic
updates... Why are you posting it to a C++ newsgroup?

If you are using XP then post to:

microsoft.public.windowsxp.general

Click START
Click RUN
Type 'services.msc' (without quotes) & click OK
Check to see if the Background Intelligent Transfer Service
(C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k BITSgroup) is set to automatic

If you restart your computer is the service back running?
