Trouble installing AJAX

Hi All,

Last evening, I downloaded and installed the Ajax Toolkit. I do not have the full version of Visual Studio so I am unable to build the TemplateVSI project. I am, however, using Visual Web Developer.

As I understand it, you should still be able to use all of the Ajax controls even without building the VSI project. There are a couple of things that you are supposed to have to do first for all of the controls to work. I do not know what all of those things are.

I have gotten far enough that the Ajax controls actually show up in my toolbox. Some of them work. Some of them do not seem to. For instance, the TabPanels have major issues. If I drag one onto the workspace, I see the following error, "Error Rendering Control - TabPanel1. An unhandled exception has occured. A ScriptManager is required on the page to use ASP.NET AJX Script Components." So, naturally, one would think that there was no ScriptManager on the page. Well, there is.

So, my immediate guess is the something is missing, perhaps something that I did not install correctly.

Anyone have any idea?
