For some time now I've been having troubles with my computer, and was advised
by a friend to use Microsoft Update. When I went to said site, I was told to
install SP2, which I've attempted to several times, but even when left
overnight, the installer always stop after displaying the message:"Creating
Cabinets" and the Details box saying: "Running processes before install". The
installer is responsive, it just doesn't do anything.
I am using Windows XP pro (Genuine copy authenticated online) and as far as
I can tell it is SP1. My computer is quite old and slow, but it does meet all
of the system requirements for the installation.
What do I do? 3 1298
I am sorry to tell you this, but you have posted your question to a .Net
Programming newsgroup. If you'd like help with a Windows problem, look for
a newsgroup with "Windows" in the description.
Just FYI.

Whoops. I was confused the the myriad apperances of the word "general" in the
forum choise dropdown, but the lack of hirarchy made life hard.
Thanks for the heads up!
