Slow speed of GDI in VB.net

hi, Acually i m making an windowapplication in VB.net, and in that GDI is so slow.Please suggest me what to do,either making that application in VC++ will increase the speed on GDI.Or i should do somthing else.

First of all thanks for reply,
Actually GDI is taking too much time to get draw the picture,saving the picture and to load the picture.

Basically my application is making the picture of very large size and
What i m doing is that
I m making the picture and save it in the file & then loads it.Which is too much time consuming.

Plz help me out
