High level overview of dot net technology

Hi All,
I am searching for a book or online material (I'll prefer this) which
gives me the high level introduction to dot net world.
The target audience are Managers and not developers. It should be for
the managers who wants to make decision on choosing the platform for
their projects.

will appreciate quick responses on this.

Thanks,
Avinash

If you think of this from a project management perspective (prince 2 for
example) its often the job of the senior supplier to chose the most
appropriate technology to solve a business problem, even if that role is
fullfilled by a techie or a coder. It is not the managers job to chose
technology - only to implement the solution. If your manager cannot act as
senior supplier in an educated way, they should not be determining if .net
is the appropriate platform solution and should base their decisions on
expertise they can obtain from those with more knowledge about eh
capabilities of .net to understand the technology implications on any given
business case.

That said, having some knowledge can always be a useful thing if its used in
the correct context. I would suggest you start at Microsoft's site as it
has a few good white papers and descriptions etc. to help your manager get
learning.
