Hello there people...i have been triying to find by myself...without success
I have a laptop that i use for work and home.
At work we have DHCP server running that gives me a 192.x.x.x (class C ip
adddress)
At home i dont have (and dont wont either) dhcp server running, so i used a
static configuration with anoter 192 config (that really doenst matter)
What i have done is to use "Alternate IP configuration", but is not working
"perfectly"
At work, when i plug my computer and turn it on, i got ip in "2 seconds",
and windows runs perfectly.
At home, after turning on, my computer starts looking for any dhcp server
and shows a kind of "loading". After 60 seconds, plus or less, my desktop is
shown and i have the alternate configuration applied.
Im looking for a registry key, script, or a policy to decrease the DHCP time
out, to 10 seconds for example.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks a lot
george
