windows/system32/config/system??????

hey guys...i'm having an absolute nightmare and i genuinely have no idea
why,
if anyone can help i'll be forever grateful. when i try to start up my
computer it says file not found or corrupt
windows\system32/config\system...it says i can try loading up from the
original XP disc which i've then tried...it looks promising but then says
with a blue screen file/i386/ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded the error
code
is 16.....cannot continue to setup....it then gives me no options but to
go
back to the initial startup screen where it all happens again......excuse
me
for not being very computer literate but i really need to get this
working as
i have loads of music production and film production work i have done and
is
invaluable to me...if anyone can help me i'd be forever
appreciative....thank
you so much....please help!!! ja**********@btinternet.com
