How Come:Datatable in another object is ok but table by itself is not?

Hello,

I have an "error" with a webservice that returns a datatable. Whenever the
datatable gets back to the client the record count is always zero. However
if i put the datatable in as a property of another custom business object
and make that serializable then all works as expected and the data is
available on the client. I read a couple of articles that said you couldn't
serialize datatable;not even in .Net 2.0; but i dont understand why it works
if i wrap it in another object but not when its a stand alone table as the
return type.

Please help?

Richard
