system.net.webexception

While developing a program in a intranet,I faced an System.net.webexception,the server is not available.I used .net remoting to connect two systems. Is there any way for connecting two systems in a lan transparently without using the IP Address or the Computer's Name.I have used an interface where only the declaration of the methods are being done.In the server machine I have implemented the interface. And the exception arises while creating an object for the interface. The Object is not set,Here for creating the interface object,I have filled the url field with http://localhost:4000/sever.soap.
If the localhost is replaced by the other systems address, then I could connect it,but I need a way for obtaining the transparency
Please suggest a way for overcoming the exception

I assume that you mean use single domain when viewing either application. That can be achieved by managing your dns and IIS.

The other alternative if some version of a frame were used.

Thanks for the reply.I want a solution for getting rid of this exception in a lan network. We are connecting two systems in a lan and as you specified we work on different domains, and we are executing our csharp program in the local system domain,we want to connect two systems for transfering data using .net remoting. Please give an idea for this
