Session & Application Variables vs. ASP

I'm trying to use Application and Session variables defined in .ASP pages, in an .ASPX
page. They are showing as blank in the ASPX page.

Are the Session and Application variables defined in a classical ASP page available to
an ASP.NET page in the same web?
