Hi

can you please tell

if String is a class in .net then we donot use new operator with it.

as String objString=new String();

we almost did like this string newString="";

can anybody explain...

Since strings are immutable they cannot be changed. Every time you set the value of a string you are creating a new string.

So, if you do something like String objString=""; it will create a new String object for you that holds nothing. Then when you use the objString later in your code, a new string is made for it and the old one is destroyed.

I'm not exactly sure why the New operator (constructor) doesn't need to be called to create a new String object...but I think that .NET calls the New constructor for you...since every time you change a String's value a new String object is created....

It would be confusing and produce a lot of clutter if we had to call the New constructor for a String object every time we wanted to change it's value.
