ASP.Net & VB.Net

I had read abt the difference between ASP.Net & VB.Net but i don't get the point.

Please anyone can reply to it.

I know that VB.Net is the programming language and is to be done in Visual Studio.Net 2005.Is this the Known as Visual Studio 7 ??

I know that ASP.Net is used for web-development.It is just for the design which is also to be done is Visual Studio.Net 2005.

Now,i want to clear my doubt that why people tell that ASP.Net and VB.Net are the different languages??
If the projects are to be prepared on .NET then why the professionals ask that do u want to do the project in ASP.NET or VB.NET ?What is the difference between them ??
Is both the same or different ??

If u get my point what i asked then pls reply soon.........

Thanxs

VS 2005 is Visual Studio 8

ASP.Net is a set of technologies that are used for web development.
It is not a language it self.
When creating a ASP.NET site you can use any .NET language you wish C#, VB etc...., for the server side code.

If they are asking for VB.NET or ASP.NET you can safely assume they mean a winform application for VB.NET.
