Two question about Web services

1. Can you run webservices created in Visual Studio.net 2005 on *nix with Mono?

2. How do you secure the webservices? let's say i created a set of web
services that i'm selling. how can i make sure only my customers who pay for
them can use it and only their customers or employees can access those web
services?

thank
