Record is not deleting from sql server database

Hi Frnds
As a college project, I am developing college admission software in VB.net using SQL server 7.0 as backend. Problem is that The Record is not Deleting from the Database. and It is showing Error. I used same code for MS Access database and the record is being deleted. Please Help me.
My code is

OleDbCommand1.CommandType = CommandType.Text
OleDbCommand1.CommandText = sql

prn is the field in the database
prnno is a temporary variable
sql is a string
bastud is my database name
I am using Windows Authentication mode while connecting database

This could be because of the way you're setting up your sql string. Try placing single quotes around your prnno variable.

You may want to look at using a sql parameter for this variable. Setting up the query string as you have makes your application less secure.

I believe that the primary problem is that I don't see you connecting to the database with an sql connection. In MS Access you are in the database so that you don't need to connect. Here is an example that may help:
