WIA vs TWAIN

I'm facing what i consider to be a serious problem, because i can't find the
solution!!!
I've made possible, for the software i'm developing, to aquire images from a
scanner using WIA. The problem is that, when i aquire an image in, for
instance, photo editor, i have the oportunity to choose between the several
drivers availlable for the scanner. These drivers are WIA and Twain drivers.
Both. So, the software i'm developing, must be capable of displaying both
drivers, WIA and Twain and be able to work (aquire) with both. I've searched
google, i've been in www.twain.org,... and for what i can see there is no way
for vb .net to make this task, only in c++ (and i don't know c++). Can you
help me?

My thanks in advanced

Mmm... some alternatives:

- Learn C++ and use directly.
- Learn C++ to make a COM wrapper or C++ CLI wrapper arround twain library. Check this out
http://www.codeproject.com/audio/twaintest.asp for a native C++ wrapper that can be easily converted to COM or C++ CLI.
- Use a comercial library like dtwain (http://www.dynarithmic.com/dtwain_overview.html)
