Web interface to VSS

Hi,

I am developing Web enabled interface to Visual Source Safe using LAMP and .Net. Means the check out and check in of files should happen over net without having client software in each machine. But I am not able to do check out on remote machine.

To call the functionalities of VSS from LAMP I have created web service in .net
which will be consumed by the consumer in PHP.

Please can any body help me in this regard.

I would like to understand what you are trying to achieve. VSS is used as a system for controlling versioning on asp.net projects. Why are you trying to create a web front end for VSS?

Ramsingh,
Please do not double post your questions.

I am not familiar with VSS or LAMP, but this sounds like it could be a security or permissions problem.

Hi,
Thanks for showing interest in my work.

I am working for a company which is developing web based application which keeps track of the development of project. In which one can assign the task to others in that case the user can chekout the file against that task and finish that job. Here VSS will be used as file control system. To check out he has to goto separate application ( client side VSS ). I am planing to provide this facility in my Web based application. With this the user can check out the file even on internet for which he doesnt require to load VSS and that web application will be in touch with server side VSS.

To some extent I am able to solve it. But the check out can not happen to local machine. I am checking out on the sever and then that will be dowloaded or transfered using ftp. To achive this i am using web services in .net. These web services will be consumed on LAMP architecture.

I hope i have given sufficient information about my problem.

Please help me. It is very important.
