Hi
I have made an asp.net application in my college but when I try to browse my page in IE on my PC I get the following error.

Configuration Error
Description: An error occurred during the processing of a
configuration file required to service this request.
Please review the specific error details below and modify
your configuration file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section
registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication'
beyond application level. This error can be caused by a
virtual directory not being configured as an application
in IIS.

Source Error:


Line 30: "Passport" and "None"
Line 31: -->
Line 32: <authentication mode="Windows" />
Line 33:

I have copied the project folder to wwwroot and to visual studio projects. Then also m facing the problem.....
How can fix this and view my page.? Pls help

u should have the virtual directory for ur appln and pt it to the actual web dir at the iis
and also the windows auth user should be administrator or should have admin
privilages...

Browse to the folder in IIS6 and right clicking on the subfolder your stuff is in, select proproities, then click "create" under applications then set the permission to scripts only.
