Datagrid or something else..

24
Hi Guys,

I am new to web development and trying to see the best way to do the following.

I need to have a calender control where the user selects a date.

Once the date is selected I need to query the Database and populate the records on the page. These vary between 2000-2500 records.

From these records, the user need to select applicable records and then hit a button to process them.

I am trying to see what control or any other approch would be good for populating these records. Is Datagrid a good option or something else to show the initial records?

Thanks,
MK

A datagrid would be a perfect option.

just make sure to set the properties of

Multiselect = True
SelectionMode = FullRowSelect

this allows the user to select multiple rows (the rows they wish to process), and ensures that they select the whole row, not just one or more cells.

Also make sure that the user is not allowed to add, edit, or delete from the grid.

placker,

Thanks for the input.

I searched on web and found the following dll which seems to do most of my work.

http://www.datagridgirl.com/rowselector.aspx

But when I followed the steps listed I get an error. The new tag which I registered is not being recognized and am getting an error message on the grid.

Do I need to do anything else other than copying the dll and registering the tag?
