Getting POST Data

Is there a way for my aspx or aspx.cs file to access data from HTML form tags such as checkbox without them running at server? I know how to retrieve GET values but not POST ones. Or is there a way to put asp:button on an aspx page via the .cs file. If I try

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Response.Write("<asp:Button ID=\"del_but\" runat=\"server\" OnClick=\"deleteCategory\" Text=\"Delete Category\" CssClass=\"submit\"/>
  2.
No button is shown, whereas if I try

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Response.Write("<input type=\"submit\" value=\"Delete\" class=\"submit\" runat=\"server\" onClick=\"deleteCategory\">");
  2.
It will not run the function. Any ideas?
